The breast lift or mastopexy, is the procedure that allows us to improve the appearance of the breasts by correcting the sagging of the breast or a low location of the areola or nipple. This occurs as time goes by, when the force of gravity and the loss of elasticity of the skin cause a tendency to sag in the breast tissue, as in pregnancy and lactation. In turn, it is possible to improve the appearance of the nipples by reducing them, as well as combining this surgery with the placement of prostheses when breast tissue is scarce.
The visible result ranges between 10 years and is permanent, taking into account that there may be factors such as pregnancy and weight gain that can affect long-term results. The scars will mature as time passes by becoming less visible, although they may vary due to the characteristics of the patient’s skin.
