This helps to improve the appearance, psychological consequences and self-esteem of patients. An areola and a nipple can also be created in the reconstructed breast if the patient so wishes.
There are several techniques for breast reconstruction and the time in which they are performed. It can be done immediately after the mastectomy or some time after.
